Attorney General Reveals Investigation into Trump Opponents and Epstein Ties

This past Friday, the Attorney General assigned interim US attorney Jay Clayton to head an investigation into political adversaries of the President and their relationships with the late financier. This decision came hours after the president ordered her to begin the probe.

During an announcement, the Attorney General praised Clayton as “a highly skilled and reliable legal expert”. She added, “This case will be addressed with speed and honesty to ensure public transparency.”

This development appears to contradict a recent memorandum from federal authorities which stated that the Epstein files did not warrant further inquiries. As per the memo, investigators “did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties”

The President Calls for Scrutiny of Political Opponents in the Epstein Case

The announcement comes as growing pressure from the president on lawmakers to resist the public disclosure of files concerning Epstein before an upcoming House vote next week. Several lawmakers are anticipated to back the release.

Recently released emails from Jeffrey Epstein have spotlighted Trump’s previous connections with the convicted criminal, revealing information that he knew more about Epstein’s conduct than he has previously let on.

On Friday, Trump announced he would direct the Department of Justice to investigate connections between Epstein and Democratic figures, including prominent individuals such as Clinton, Summers, and Hoffman. Paradoxically, he also referred to the “Epstein hoax” as a “deception”.
