Chopper Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Well-Known Southern California Beach

A helicopter flying over a crowded southern California beach abruptly began spiraling out of control, ultimately dropping height and plunging into a line of palm groves as onlookers watched.

Recordings shared on social media capture the helicopter commencing to spiral over Huntington Beach then descending near the perimeter of the beach, where it ends up lodged amidst palm groves and a staircase adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.

First Aid Details

Emergency responders said five individuals were taken to hospital involving two individuals who were in the helicopter and were “rescued from the debris” after the accident on Saturday.

Three individuals on the pavement were hurt. Details on their injuries were not immediately available.

The reason for the accident was not immediately released.
