England's Head Coach Thomas Tuchel stated that he holds "no issue" with Phil Foden after the trio did not make the England team for forthcoming matches against Latvia and Wales.

Bellingham did not earn a recall even after returning from a shoulder issue, whereas Foden and Grealish are also absent although displaying improved form with their respective clubs.

The German manager mentioned that the 22-year-old desired to be included of the selection, after a conversation with him on the phone.

"Bellingham is a unique talent, and for exceptional talents there can always be exceptions," the coach said regarding the Real Madrid star, who's made just one start since returning to full health.

"But we decided to maintain the simple decision of calling up the same group.

"Bellingham consistently merits to be here. There is also the situation that he has not fully regained his optimal form again at his club - he has not finished a full match.

"The player wanted to be selected. We had a phone call."

Tuchel made an effort to highlight his positive relationship with Bellingham after he apologized to him previously for calling his on-pitch behavior as "repulsive" in a live interview.

Tuchel explained that he used the words "without meaning to" and would be more cautious in future.

Inquired if he had a problem with the player, he responded: "No. There is also no problem with Foden or Grealish.

"Foden is returning to impacting and deciding games for Manchester City. Jack is very close to returning to the top form of himself.

"There is no personal issue."

Saka replacing the hurt Noni Madueke is the sole alteration to last month's team, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Jarell Quansah keeping their spots after joining as last-minute call-ups last month due to injury.

The Three Lions play the Welsh team in a non-competitive match at Wembley Stadium on Thursday before a World Cup qualifier in the Latvian capital on October 14.

If England win in the away fixture, they will require a maximum of two points from their final two qualifiers - against Serbia and Albania in November - to secure a spot in the upcoming tournament in North America.

Strong Performance Under the Manager

The Three Lions produced their best display by some distance under Tuchel's leadership when they defeated Serbia 5-0 on the road in the Serbian capital last time out.

Tuchel says that performance made it an straightforward choice to stick with mostly the identical group, though "there are no certainties" for any player regarding being picked.

"The last camp was just three and a half weeks ago and the cohesion and morale was on the highest level. That is the reason we decided to invite the identical players to this camp," he commented.

"Phil is in a very good moment. Wharton deserves to be with us. Curtis Jones and Trevoh Chalobah are getting playing time with their teams.

"We have players who warrant to be here. Cole Palmer is injured and is a special player. It will always be like this.

"Is our team a stronger side with Jude? Yes. But I mentioned before, what do we do if Jude is unavailable before the World Cup? Do we just cancel?"

Tuchel's Press Conference Gets Noticed

Thomas Tuchel again delivered a headline-grabbing news conference.

Tuchel, a expert of handling his interactions with the media, started with an opening statement to set out his reasoning for his decisions.

The midfielder is ready to play and expressed interest to come to the squad, but the coach has said he did not want to alter the team too much after a impressive five-goal win over their opponents - where the manager noted unity was extremely strong.

However with Tuchel not selecting the star, and his repeated remarks about togetherness, it is difficult to avoid connect the two - although he said repeatedly how he is "exceptional" and that there is "no problem" between Tuchel and one of the national team's star players.

Tuchel has always made it evident that he aimed to make the national team seem like a club team and, by retaining the same squad after a big victory, he has done that. But the inquiries will come again in the following session if the team perform strongly in these next two matches.
