In “It’s a Deal”, a look back discloses that popular character Alastor the Radio Demon was a serial killer in his human life. Being aware he was destined for Hell, he made contact with the afterlife in advance to secure a strong position in Hell. The charismatic leader, the charismatic leader the cannibal faction in Hell, vowed Alastor he would become “the strongest Sinner in Hell” in return for his eternal spirit.

This raises an important query: How is Rosie powerful enough to elevate Alastor over every other Demonic Sinners?

“The agreement between Rosie and Alastor is the initial building block in a much bigger story that encompasses so much, leading into season 3,” the showrunner explains. “Obviously that is an excellent question: How is she so strong? The solution might be various factors, but the revelation is in season three. I am thrilled for fans to witness it.”

It is uncertain how long the audience will have to remain for Hazbin Hotel’s third season. The production companies have green-lit the third and fourth seasons, but the creator frequently remarks that animated production is a time-consuming endeavor, and later seasons have no release dates yet. Still, she states holding off on specific information is a crucial aspect of maintaining the second season's focus where it belongs.

“The difficulty of any kind of deal with infernal beings, or stories that have mysteries, is giving people just enough information to be like, Something's up here, and then unveiling that gradually, and letting that be gratifying,” she comments. “So I'm very excited.”

Questions Answered in The Next Season

The creator promises that season 3 will tackle the queries fans have been posing, like why Rosie commanded Alastor to disappear for seven years, which weakened his power in the infernal realm.

“The whole seven years, and the deals these humans are doing, and all that — it contributes to a bigger narrative,” she says.

In the meantime, the origin story episode provides another glimpse into what the core cast of Sinner Demons looked like as mortals, the second after seeing Sir Pentious’ Victorian-era human form in the second episode. She explains that significant consideration was put into the visual creation of these forms.

“The human versions of these personas carry so much weight,” she says. “They vary from appearing quite distinct from their demon form to looking very similar. With the first character, the first one we see, there was some internal discussion within the team between going with a design that represents the personality, as opposed to selecting something that's historically correct. We leaned toward creating something that just felt like it was him.”

She mentions the biggest debate over Pentious’ human design was his lengthy locks: “We were like, ‘No one really had extended hair like that in Victorian-era London.’ But simultaneously, we think the silhouette is extremely crucial, and we also just thought he appeared attractive. We were like, ‘This seems correct.’ We kind of gave the excuse that he lived in seclusion, so he just allowed his hair to lengthen. So there's always a way. As we design the human versions of these characters […] it is a very enjoyable process to explore and determine. I am looking forward for people to see more of what the human forms look like.”
